Tarot Spread - Confronting Your Shadows: Surrendering to Truth

This one looks like a pretty little 5 card tarot spread but it sure packs a punch.I created this tarot spread to help us dig right down to our core to better understand our shadows.

For a better description than I could ever throw together, I found this quote on Oprah.com which I thought explains it very well... "Our shadow, formed long ago, contains all the parts of ourselves that we have tried to hide or deny, the parts we believe are not acceptable to our family, friends and, most importantly, ourselves. It is made up of everything that annoys, horrifies or disgusts us about other people or about ourselves. It holds all that we try to hide from those we love and all that we don't want other people to think about us or find out about us. As the great Swiss psychologist C.G. Jung says, our shadow is the person we would rather not be." (If you want to continue reading about the Shadow on Oprah.com I'll leave the link here.)

I should also add that I used somewhat of a 'spiritual buzzword' in this tarot spread. The word being Spiritual Bypassing - in the event you are not familiar with this term I wanted to include a definition:"A spiritual bypass or spiritual bypassing is a "tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep or avoid facing unresolved emotional issues, psychological wounds, and unfinished developmental tasks". The term was introduced in the early 1980s by John Welwood, a Buddhist teacher and psychotherapist." - Wikipedia.

Even if you are familiar with the topic, I would suggest reading this article from Lonerwolf . Their article provides wonderful examples to help you identify where you're spiritually bypassing. (I should note that I do not 100% agree with all options listed but I can recognize & accept how they could be a form of spiritual bypassing.)
