Which Tarot Cards Signify Protection? | Tarot Tips
In this post, we’ll explore some tarot cards that can signify Protection in a reading.
In a tarot reading, intuition comes above all else. It’s also important to take a look at surrounding cards in a reading to truly understand the messages. However, as a beginner it can be challenging to remember all the card meanings and what they signify.
Let’s take a look at a few examples of tarot cards that can signify protection.
The Star
The Star is one of my favorite cards to symbolize protection as it represents angels and spirit watching over you. This card signifies divine protection and a sense of optimism and hope.
The Chariot
The Chariot card represents determination, willpower, and control. It can signify the need to protect and assert your boundaries or the ability to overcome obstacles through your inner strength.
The Hermit
The Hermit is a great card of protection as The Hermit always knows when to go inward to focus on themselves and protect their peace. It can symbolize a need to retreat or find protection in solitude for self-discovery and inner guidance.
The Empress
I often see The Empress as the ‘mother’ in the tarot (along with the Queens) and thus she is nurturing and protective. This card can be symbolic of someone protecting you or for you needing to protect an area of yourself / your own life.
The High Priestess
The High Priestess card is associated with intuition, inner knowledge, and secrets. It can be a card that encourages you to trust your instincts and protect your inner wisdom. The High Priestess is also divinely protected, meaning that there is an unknown presence at work to help protect and guide the querent.
6 of Swords
The 6 of Swords is a card of leaving something behind. This journey forward is often leaving negative energy, stress, abuse, etc. in the past for much more calm waters. This energy is protective because it is removing you from a toxic, difficult, or general situation that is not serving you.
10 of Pentacles
The 10 of Pentacles represents family and the security of home and tradition. In terms of protection, this card can symbolize stability and comfort found within the family/home. This card also can signify a financial protection such as an inheritance or long-term savings.
