Full Moon in Scorpio - Flower Moon Tarot Spread

May 5th, 2023 brings us a Full Moon and Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Scorpio (at 14 degrees).

According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the name “Flower Moon” comes from Native American teachings that flowers in North America tend to bloom on or around the full moon in May.

Astrologically, this Lunar Eclipse is carrying the energy we just experienced from the recent Solar Eclipse that happened in April. It is also part of a set of eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis that have been occurring since November 2021 and will continue until October of this year.

Jupiter is also squaring a retrograde Pluto, which means we will see expanding issues surrounding power and control (both in our lives and collectively). This is why I’ve chosen to focus a fair bit of this tarot spread on the concept of personal power.
